Disability pension for former members
As a former member of the the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund (SPK), you may be entitled to a disability pension from us if you have been a member for minimum three years and are granted disability benefits from the National Insurance Fund (NAV).
If you change your job and begin to work for an employer that doesn’t have an occupational pension with the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund (SPK), you are no longer a member. To receive a disability pension as a former member, you must
- been a member of SPK and possibly other Norwegian public occupational pension schemes for at least three years.
- receive disability benefits from the National Insurance Scheme (NAV).
Working in government position within the EU/EEA can also count towards the qualifying time.
You are not entitled to a disability pension if you only receive work assessment allowance (AAP) from NAV.
How to apply for a disability pension as a former member
If you have been a member of several Norwegian public occupational pension schemes throughout your career, you must apply for a pension from the scheme where you were last a member.
If SPK was the last scheme you were a member of:
- Log in to spk.no and fill in the application for disability pension (in Norwegian). You apply from the date you were granted disability benefits from NAV.
If you are unable to log in, call us at +47 22 24 15 00
- You can check the status of your application by logging in to spk.no
- You will receive a letter from us when we have processed your application. If your application is approved it is important that you read the information about income, your responsibilities and rights.
If your application is approved, the pension will be paid on the 20th of each month. NAV pays on our behalf.
